Design Thinking Process
Empathize
User interview

First, we formulate questions for the interviews. Upon identifying the problem, we recognize the necessity for two distinct user perspectives—one representing employers and the other representing employees. We schedule online meetings with them, recording and documenting their responses during the sessions.

Findings and Insights

Throughout the interviews, we found five significant insights.

Limited knowledge of mental health

Interviewees cope with stress individually, relying on personal methods and leaving the workplace to find relief. However, their understanding of mental health is limited, primarily centered around activities they enjoy.

“I try to treat myself like purchasing some babble teas and hanging out with my friends, but I do not know if it is enough to maintain my mental health.” - Interviewee 2

Lack of support by their companies

Unfortunately, interviewees do not think their companies are supportive regarding their mental health. They do not know how their companies work on mental health issues.

“My company may think about maintaining mental health and motivating ourselves is our problem. It is not their problem.” - Interviewee 4

Impact on their performance

Every interviewee expressed that their mental health conditions have a notable impact on their work, hindering their ability to achieve their optimal performance.

“I cannot use my brain very well. At the time, I do not speak very well. That means I cannot explain enough, and I cannot able to give my best performance”  - Interviewee 1

Hesitation to ask help

We found that even if interviewees have mental health problems, they are likely to hide it because they are afraid of getting fired or interrupting other coworkers. Also, they consider consulting is overmuch solutions for them. This situation might lead to a worse for their mental health.

“I feel like a huge step to take that kind of treatment. I do not think I am not that kind of level that I need to take that treatment.” - Interviewee 1

My refection to the project

As a dedicated member of the design team, I played a pivotal role in shaping the user experience for our project. My primary focus was on ensuring a seamless and responsive design across various interfaces, with a particular emphasis on the organization and employee pages. I meticulously crafted the responsive design for the home page, incorporating essential elements such as the price page and form page. Additionally, I spearheaded the design efforts for the overall home page, ensuring a visually appealing and user-friendly layout. Beyond these core responsibilities, I actively participated in the creation of presentation slides and proposal designs, contributing to the project's overall professional and polished image. I also took a lead role in developing user personas, understanding our target audience, and making informed decisions on color selection to enhance the visual appeal of our project. My multifaceted contributions reflect my commitment to delivering a comprehensive and well-rounded design that aligns with the project's objectives.
